In process of setting the service capability for Heartland, KGISL directly recruited untrained manpower; screening close to 40,000 candidates; through its deep-rooted recruitment network throughout South India. This recruited manpower were extensively trained over a period of 144 days to establish what is today considered as one of the finest Transcription facilities in Asia. The entire curriculum was designed and customized by KGISL and HIS, Ohio. To ensure no compromises on quality and keeping in mind the path-breaking technology coming to India for the first time, KGISL ensured its trainers for the training program were either trained at the Ohio base or were trained by Senior Training faculty from the US.

Operating as a back-office for the Healthcare industry in the US, KGISL MT Production Unit operated on a 24-hour, 365-day schedule on a 3-shift basis for servicing its client hospitals.

Acclaimed for its performance, standards of quality service, KGISL quickly added up a solid reputation in the IT field, both in India and abroad. With constant gains accruing from the offshore center, the KGISL Heartland relationship continued to evolve, developing into a close partnership ensuring continued high quality service delivery to Heartland clients. Keeping in mind the service benefits and more importantly the financial and investment benefits accruing from an established partnership, Heartland Information Services formally signed a Joint Venture Agreement with KGISL investing a stake in KGISL's Medical Transcription capability. With this JV, a dedicated MT unit was spun off as an independent entity from the KGISL portfolio and came to be known as Heartland-KG Information Services. Heartland-KG currently employing close to 1000 professional MT's continues to be one of the largest and foremost torchbearers of quality service in the field of Medical Transcription in Asia.
